1977 Pontiac Trans Am SE  aka Bandit Trans AM

The 1977 Pontiac Trans SE was made famous back in the Spring of 1977 when Hal Needham casted the Firebird Trans AM for his directorial debuet in "Smokey and the Bandit" starring Burt Reynolds.   Here's a few pictures of my 1977 Firebird Trans AM SE (special edition). To ses a full collection of pictures check out
"My Trans AM" page, there are several photos and neat facts.
The SE is the model they used in the film.  The 4 trans am's that Pontiac gave to the production of the movie were all deystroyed, per Hal Needham in a interview that he gave to HHP Magazine (pictured right).   "Smokey and the Bandit Secrests Revealed"  It's a must have for all trans am / bandit fans.   This was his 1st in-depth interview about the film in 30 years for movies 30th anniversary.

SE stands for "Special Edition"which is a package that included:
RemovableGlass Roof Panels.
Special Gold Cast luminum Wheels
Special Gold Interior / Exterior Appointments.

Here are the 1st polariod pictures I snapped of my T/A after I purchased it back in the mid 90's.  It had 66,000 miles on it and It's all original except for the flow master exhaust.  I even have the original Uniroyal Tires that came on the car when it was new stored away.  The Bandit and I reside here in south Florida.

Here's a group picture from "The Bandit Run 2007"  That's me in the front row on the far right side in the red shirt.  It was a blast, and now it's an annual event.  We had a ton of media coverage from magazines and TV.  You can keep up to date with all the details on the next run and check out all the videos and pictures on my other site TheBanditRunPhotos.
